HOW LONG SHOULD MY EXTENSIONS Star10-Collagen LAST?
It will depend a lot on the system we have placed. But in general, a month and a half to two months is ideal if we don't abuse flat irons and curling irons. Unfortunately, extensions don't last as long as a wig or hairpiece. Because we sleep with them and use more fixing products and hair dryers to style our hair daily. The fact that we can iron Star10-Collagen doesn't mean it's indestructible. We must take care of our item by protecting it with water and recommended products in each use of curling irons, flat irons or heat tools. If we do, we can have a wig for more than a year, unlike extensions, since we don't sleep with it...However, if over time or with poor care, this hair starts to become dry and rough at the ends, we can recover its original appearance with a hair dryer. HOW SHOULD I WASH AND COMB MY EXTENSIONS OR WIGS made of heat-resistant Star-10 fiber?
It's very simple, using a HYDRATING shampoo: that is, all those shampoos that do not dry out the hair but rather provide hydration by containing conditioners in their formula. For example, shampoos indicated for dry, damaged, punished, dyed hair, etc... I wash my extensions without rubbing too much. We previously detangle with a large brush without teeth, preferably or with wide teeth. (to avoid breaking knots and damaging the hair). Successively, we apply (dry) "express conditioner" (biphase) spray without rinsing. Thus favoring hydration and shine without "greasing" too much like in the case of hair masks for human hair. We will start brushing slowly. Little by little, from the tips to the top. Detangling any knots that may have formed due to natural friction with our clothes. Or even, as in the case of any other hair, due to many hours of movement..Every time we remove a clip-on collagen extension, for example, it will be good practice to detangle it as described above. From the inside and out, as it could be tangled due to natural friction with our own clothes, with the seat of a car or simply due to hair movements throughout the day. Successively, apply the express conditioner, guaranteeing its perfect hydration, good texture, and soft touch like new. If we don't take care of it by following these steps, it's very likely that we'll accelerate its gradual drying process. The hair will acquire an ugly and aged appearance. However, if this happens, we can always recover it with heat, as mentioned earlier. Unless the neglect and deterioration are very advanced. After detangling the extension or wig with a large brush, we will spray the "express conditioner without rinsing", gently shaking the hair so that the product filters and penetrates, hydrating both inside and out and returning the tips to their original shape.IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED to apply masks that are usually used for natural hair, since the fiber does not have the capacity to absorb this type of product, with the consequent result that the hair would become greasy and progressively damaged..IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to understand that detangling must be done with the utmost care. The Star-10 Collagen protein hair is as fine as human hair and therefore we could break it or damage it. IT IS TOTALLY NORMAL that such long hair (like any other extension) gets tangled. Where we will have to take into account this peculiarity, taking care of our movements, such as when getting into a car seat or bending down abruptly with our head down... For example, wearing it tucked to the side when making movements or sudden changes in posture. And knowing that its detangling requires a certain attention and handling. Any type of tangle, even the most difficult, can be undone with patience and affection.
